Advantages 👍
- A more capable subcompact vehicle.
When a person needed a cheap car for basic transportation 10 years ago, he or she would look for a Toyota Corolla, a Nissan Sentra, or something similar. A small crossover like the Honda HR-V, Nissan Kicks, or Kia Seltos is now more likely. Aside from the higher prices, these subcompact crossover vehicles are much more useful.
- There's enough space.
The above-mentioned subcompact cars' interiors were one of their distinguishing features. The Seltos, on the other hand, are the polar opposite. It's surprising how spacious it is. There's enough headroom, shoulder room, and foot room for the front passengers, as well as cargo space. As a form factor, the big box has more interior space than the suppository. Who'd have guessed? In addition, the shape aids visibility.
- Taking care of.
Surprisingly, the handling is very strong. It's especially good in town, in urban and suburban traffic, where it takes care of the essentials. If you take it out on a winding lane, you might need a dose of Dramamine. However, it is completely capable of going to the supermarket or dropping off the kids. The steering feel is actually very nice, which is unusual for this price range.
- Take a ride.
It's not quite as luxurious as a Subaru CrossTrek, but it's not bad. It's tuned to be best around town, on fairly good roads, much like its handling. It's fine there, and even very relaxed. Drive on some potholed boulevards to mess with it, and you'll feel a thwack in the back. For day-to-day travel, the seats are also adequate.
- Choice for all-wheel drive.
The Seltos is available with all-wheel drive for those who live in the great, frozen north.
- It's that simple.
The ergonomics are simple, but that's a good thing because they're easy to understand. Three big dials control the heating and ventilation: ergonomically, they're straight out of 1975, but they function perfectly and simply, just as they did back then. Other controls, such as the touch screen, are often straightforward and easy to use. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are pre-installed on the vehicle. The interior is modern, but there is more hard plastic in this car than in more expensive cars, which is in keeping with the price. Regardless, our “S” trim included heated seats and other amenities.
✅Warranty is given.Kia's bumper-to-bumper warranty remains high, at 5 years and 60,000 miles.
👎Disadvantages
- Powerr.
With the higher-powered 175 hp turbo four as an option, there's plenty of power. Also with the upgraded engine, however, highway ramps are long and noisy. We're concerned about the base, non-turbo 146 hp engine's ability to handle highway drives, passing maneuvers, and hilly terrain. You'll get there eventually, just not easily or quietly. There is a driving mode called "sport" that increases the change points. As a result, you'll get better results at the cost of increased noise and lower mileage. As a result, you're unlikely to use it often.
- Security isn't something that comes normal.
The base Seltos has very few advanced safety features. All of the other features, such as forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and blind spot warning, are optional. So, if you want to skip the base "LX" trim, prepare to upgrade. Our well-equipped all-wheel-drive S Turbo model came in at $26,740 with all the bells and whistles.
