Polestar Introduces Mobile Servicing in the U.S.

Polestar has established a mobile servicing programme in the United States that may be especially beneficial to owners who do not reside near an authorised service location.A Polestar technician will visit a customer's site to perform a variety of tasks, including software updates and minor repairs, as part of the programme. Polestar claims that when combined with over-the-air upgrades, users will rarely need to take their vehicle in for a major servicing during their ownership.

Customers don't have to worry about the distance between them and their nearest Polestar service centre with Polestar's mobile service option, according to Steve DeGrazio, Polestar North America's head of customer care and quality. “While Polestar Spaces are fast developing in most major cities, mobile service is a convenient option for people who do not have access to a Polestar authorised service point in their area.

Polestar has service centres in Austin, Boston, Denver, Los Angeles, New York, Phoenix, and the San Francisco Bay Area, among other cities. Customers who live within 150 miles of a service location can have their vehicles picked up and delivered for free. The automaker is continuing to expand its presence in the United States, with plans to open 35 retail locations by the end of 2022.

Polestar published a new over-the-air update for the 2 earlier this month that adds a remote key via the official Polestar app. The company claims that because this digital key uses an encrypted Bluetooth signal rather than a radio frequency, it is immune to relay attacks.
